“WHAT WAS THAT?!” - Watch as Scottie Scheffler unloads on Tom Kim after his putt
The fourballs match between Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley vs. Tom Kim and Sungjae Im was an entertaining one on the opening day of the 2024 Presidents Cup. Kim and Scheffler's friendly rivalry has set the golf course on fire, with fans enjoying their competition.
Kim was having an impressive outing and drained a long birdie to put the pressure on Scheffler. On the 7th hole of the Presidents Cup, Scheffler pocketed a birdie from 27 feet. Scheffler could not hold back his emotions following the impressive feat as he looked towards Kim and screamed:
"What was that?!"
The moment showed how intense the friendly rivalry between both golfers was. Further down the line, Tom Kim and Sungjae Im both walked off the course early before Scheffler could finish playing the 8th hole. Commentator and ex-golfer Paul McGinley commented on the situation, saying:
"That's bordering on bad behavior...that's disrespectful in my opinion.”

Team USA Captain Jim Furyk spoke about his choice of pairings (via ASAP Sports):
"If you've got eight guys or ten guys on the course, we're trying to maximize your potential, get the best five groups you can get out there on the golf course. I think, talking to my assistants and talking to our statistical team, there's a number of different reasons, probably don't - obviously we know those guys play all their practice rounds together, they're great friends, get along very well."
The format for day 1 of the tournament will be the fourballs.
