When will the 2024 Wyndham Championship round 1 begin on Friday? Updated tee time and conditions explored

The opening round of the 2024 Wyndham Championship, initially scheduled for Thursday, August 8, has been postponed to Friday, August 9. The first round of the event will now begin no earlier than 8:50 a.m. ET on Friday.

The PGA Tour has updated fans about the new tee times via a social media post. The PGA Tour Rules Committee will assess the golf course's condition on Friday morning before proceeding with the tournament.

Play was suspended on Thursday due to Tropical Storm Debby. Rain had been predicted in the weather forecast, and there was a chance that the first round would be postponed. As a precaution, officials denied entry to fans for the opening round on Thursday due to the rain.

Notably, the Wyndham Championship is the final event of the season, after which players will head to the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs.
