The LIV Golf Andalucia is set to take place from Friday, July 12, to Sunday, July 14, at Real Club Valderrama. The golf course is located in the resort of Sotogrande, San Roque, in Andalucia, Spain. This will be the second straight year the tournament returns to Andalucia.
Real Club Valderrama is rated among the top golf courses in the world. Over the years, it has hosted many major tournaments, including the 1997 Ryder Cup, marking the first time the tournament took place in Continental Europe.
Originally designed in 1974 by architect Robert Trent Jones, Real Club Valderrama underwent an overhaul in the mid-1980s after Jaime Ortiz-Patiño acquired the course.
Real Club Valderrama is a par 71, 7006-yard golf course, featuring eleven Par 4 holes, three Par 5 holes, and four Par 3 holes. The longest hole is the Par 5, 564-yard 4th hole, known as La Cascada, which has water on the right of the green.
The shortest hole is the Par 3, 164-yard 6th hole at the LIV Golf Andalucia venue. The most difficult hole is the Par 3, 225-yard 12th hole, with a scoring average of 3.340 last year. The easiest hole last year was the Par 5, 536-yard 17th hole, with a scoring average of 4.715.
Over the years, Real Club Valderrama has also hosted the WGC-American Express Championship, Ladies Spanish Open, DP World Tour's Andalucia Masters, and the Open de España. Notable golfers such as Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, John Catlin, and Adrian Meronk have claimed victories here. All of them currently play on the Saudi-backed circuit.
Last year, Talor Gooch emerged victorious at the LIV Golf Andalucia. He aggregated at 12-under to beat Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke.
