Ashleigh Buhai carded eight birdies and a bogey in the first round of the Kroger Queen City Championship. Buhai is seeking her first LPGA Tour victory since winning the 2023 ShopRite LPGA Classic.
Following her first round at the Kroger Queen City Championship, Ashleigh Buhai assessed her performance as follows (via ASAP Sports):
"I think I was just smart with when I could attack. At the same time, play to spaces. There were a few pins out there where you had to still try to be aggressive, and the greens got a little firm and ran through, but then made some good up and downs to keep me in it."
Several Solheim Cup competitors were present at TPC River's Bend. Nelly Korda and Leona Maguire are the best placed, tied for fourth, two shots off the lead.
Linn Grant is tied for 26th, while Charley Hull is tied for 35th with Albane Valenzuela and others. Lexi Thompson and Anna Nordqvist are in a group of 18 players tied for 52nd.
