Who is leading the 2024 LIV Golf Andalucia after Day 1? Leaderboard explored

The first round of the 2024 LIV Golf Andalucia concluded on Friday, July 12 at the Real Club Valderrama, Spain. The course once again proved to be a tough test, as evidenced by the fact that only seven players broke par.

Dean Burmester leads the LIV Golf Andalucia after the first round with a score of 6 under. Four players are three shots or fewer behind him, including local favorite Sergio Garcia.

Burmester played the first round of the LIV Golf Andalucia with six birdies and one bogey. The current runner-up, Danny Lee, had one more bogey than the South African.

Sergio Garcia returned to the course where he won the Andalucia Masters three times (2011, 2017, 2018) and carded four birdies and two bogeys. Garcia finished the first day of the LIV Golf Andalucia, tied for fourth with Anirban Lahiri.

The other local hero, Jon Rahm, finished tied for 16th with a score of 2 over. Players who matched Rahm's performance included Bryson DeChambeau, Anthony Kim, Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson.

The other two Spaniards in the field were Eugenio Lopez Chacarra and David Puig. Chacarra finished solo third with a score of 3 under, while Puig finished in a tie for 52nd place with a score of 10 over.

The team competition is led by All-South Africans team Stingers GC with a score of 4 under. Fireballs GC and Iron Heads GC round out the top 3.
