Maja Stark carded seven birdies and one bogey in the second round of the Maybank Championship. The Swede is seeking her second victory in three seasons on the LPGA Tour.
After the second round, the new Maybank Championship leader had this to say (via ASAP Sports):
"It went very well. I think I was pretty solid off the tee. Had a lot of short irons. Then it was -- I've been struggling a bit with my putting this whole year, but I feel like I really had an easier time seeing the lines here than I usually do."
Day one leader Mao Saigo dropped 12 places on the leaderboard with a 2-over score in the second round. The Japanese had two birdies and four bogeys during the day.
The opposite happened to American Marina Alex, who carded the Maybank Championship's best second-round score of 8-under with an eagle and six birdies. The performance moved her up 24 places on the leaderboard and into a tie for second place.
