Beau Hossler fired a 10-under 60 to take the early lead at the weather-affected Wyndham Championship. He had a two-shot lead over Billy Horschel before play was suspended due to darkness.

The first round of the Wyndham Championship 2024 took place on Friday, August 9, after the previous day was disrupted by Tropical Storm Debby. However, play was suspended for the day before all 156 players could complete their rounds.

Hossler made a red-hot start at Sedgefield, bagging four back-to-back birdies before making an eagle on the par-5 5th hole. He closed the front nine with a 28, and a 59 didn't seem too far off. He quickly went 8-under after another birdie on the 10th, but then bogeyed the next hole. With only three birdies over the next seven holes, he settled for a 60.

Billy Horschel continued from where he had left off at the Open Championship, remaining bogey-free for the day at the Wyndham Championship. However, he still has two more holes to go. Nick Taylor was three strokes back after 14 holes.
