“Who’s who of a leaderboard” – Fans react to Round 1 leaderboard of LIV Golf Mayakoba
The second season of LIV Golf began on Friday, February 24 at the El Camaleón Golf Course at Mayakoba, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The tournament is back with 48-star golfers competing in team matches and individual events.
Each of the regular tournaments at LIV Golf Mayakoba will feature a purse of $25m, with $4m going to the winner of the individual event and $3m shared among members of the winning team.
The first round of the tournament successfully concluded on Friday, February 24 with Paul Casey sharing the lead alongside Jason Kokrak.
LIV Golf posted the leaderboard for the opening round on their official social media page.
Fans jumped into the comment section to react to the standings after Round 1:

The final round of the tournament is scheduled for Sunday, February 26. It is important to note that the next two rounds of the LIV Golf will be televised on the CW Network.
2023 LIV Golf Mayakoba leaderboard
The inaugural round of the LIV Golf is topped by Paul Casey alongside Jason Kokrak. The golfers wrapped up the first round at 65 to finish under 6 on the leaderboard. Peter Uihlein secured the third position alongside Carlos Ortiz and Talor Gooch.
English golfer Ian Poulter finished in a five-way tie alongside Charles Howell II, Marc Leishman, Dustin Johnson, and Braden Grace.
The newly added members of the LIV Golf could not outshine last year's players in their debut match. Danny Lee finished in T18, Brendan Steele in T23, and Thomas Pieters secured the T43 position. Sebastian Munoz and Mito Pereira finished in an eight-way tie at 23rd position.
