Who won the John Deere Classic? Exploring top 20 leaderboard from PGA Tour event
The John Deere Classic concluded after four excellent rounds on Sunday evening. A massive field entered with the chance to win the latest PGA Tour event, but only one could come out on top. Several golfers did put in excellent efforts and showcased their talent all weekend long. Here's who won and who joined them near the top of the final leaderboard.

When the final group for the day was teeing off, there was a lot of congestion at the top of the leaderboard. Davis Thompson led, but he was only four strokes ahead of the rest of the top 10. That ultimately, more or less, held as Thompson earned his first career win.
It was not a winning outing for Hayden Springer, but the rookie officially put the PGA Tour on notice. He started off in impressive fashion, tying numerous records with a first-round 59 that included an eight-under showing on the first nine holes.
Luke Clanton, an amateur who made the cut at the US Open, put in a phenomenal outing. He shot 24 under, including eight under in the final round, to finish within a few strokes of a win.
The entire field played really well, so much so that the cut was -5. For reference, that was the second-place score at the US Open last month. Quite a few good golfers missed out at the John Deere Classic as a result:

Only one player had to withdraw this weekend: Jimmy Stanger. Everyone else made it through at least two full rounds of the tournament.
