The show, having been eagerly awaited by fans worldwide, did surprise its viewers with the unexpected absence of Spaniard champion Sergio Garcia. He was expected to be a significant part of the show, owing to publicized coverage of his initial agreement with the showrunners of Netflix via the media and his notable appearance in the documentary’s trailer.

The 2017 Masters champion’s apparent absence from the docuseries is bound to raise questions all around, for he could’ve been a commendable addition to the show. His presence could've increased its overall viewership.

Garcia made headlines when he resigned from his PGA Tour membership, promptly after joining

This transpired as a result of being overcome with frustration over the referee giving him a penalty for taking too much time to find his ball.

Authorities on the PGA Tour found the referee's decision to be a mistake. The error was also confirmed publicly: The referee hadn’t known that the player had to use his time over the other side of the creek.

As the time clock wasn’t locked during this, the time assigned to Garcia wasn't delayed even though it should've been.

“I can’t wait to leave this Tour," said Garcia

The unfortunate incident is alleged to have led to his eventual resignation from the PGA Tour. This resulted with him facing a hefty fee as a fine for his departure from the PGA Tour and his subsequent re-admission into the LIV Series in 2022.

On June 7, 2022, famed reporter Todd Lewis tweeted about the Associated Press’ report of the withdrawal of four LIV players from the PGA Tour, one of which was the 2017 Masters champion.

The Associated Press is reporting four more players that committed to the first LIV event outside of London have resigned from the @PGATOUR. Those players are @TheSergioGarcia @BrandenGrace @CA_Schwartzel & @Louis57TM.

Garcia's unintentional altercation with the officials of the PGA Tour has seemingly stirred up resentment and resulted in his withdrawal from the series documenting the behind-the-scenes of games played on the tour.

"I want to feel loved, and right now on the European Tour I am not feeling loved," said Garcia.
Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia says he intends on quitting the DP World Tour because of the way he has been treated since joining the Saudi-backed LIV tour:

Consequently, the executive producer of the documentary series disclosed that the team from Netflix and Garcia have unitedly agreed on his departure from the venture.
