Will Tiger Woods be part of the PGA Tour FedEx Fall series 2024? Availability and eligibility explored

The PGA Tour has announced the eight-event FedEx Fall series, but Tiger Woods will continue to remain absent from action in this tournament. He is not expected to make any official starts for the remainder of the series.

The PGA Tour FedEx Fall will begin with the Procore Championship, taking place from September 12 to 15 in Napa, and will conclude with the RSM Classic in November. These events provide players with the opportunity to finish in the top 125 of the FedEx Cup standings, securing exempt status for next year's full-field events.

As for Tiger Woods, his official season ended with The Open Championship a couple of months ago. He played in five events this year, making the cut at the Masters Tournament but failing to reach the weekend in the other three major championships.

After withdrawing from the U.S. Open earlier this year, Woods made it clear that he did not intend to play any additional events this year.

"I've only got one more tournament this season," he said during the US Open. "I don't think even if I win the British Open I don't think I'll be in the Playoffs. Just one more event and then I'll come back whenever I come back."

The 48-year-old golfer has not been a regular feature on the PGA Tour in recent years. Since his life-threatening car accident in 2021, his appearances have become more sporadic. Last year, he underwent a subtalar fusion surgery, after which he played in five events this season.

Woods has won 82 times on the PGA Tour but has been winless since the 2020 Zozo Championship. He is currently tied with Sam Snead as the winningest player on the PGA Tour. Additionally, he is three majors away from tying Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major championship titles.

When will Tiger Woods play next?

Although Tiger Woods is not expected to play in any official tournaments for the remainder of the season, he will be competing in a couple of events. The first is the Hero World Challenge, which he hosts. Notably, this was the event where he made his comeback last year after an eight-month hiatus.

Woods will also participate in the PNC Championship alongside his son, Charlie Woods. They finished as runners-up in 2021, where they recorded eleven straight birdies to finish just behind John Daly and his son.
