Wyndham Clark on being a 'sponge' while playing with Scottie Scheffler- "I enjoy beating him"

Wyndham Clark and World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler are currently at the Royal Montreal Golf Club to play at the 2024 Presidents Cup. Scheffler and Clark will be representing Team USA, led by Jim Furyk, against the International Team, led by Mike Weir.

On September 25th, Clark was part of a press conference at the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Quebec, Canada. During the press conference, Clark was asked how it felt being part of a team that has Scheffler in it. The 3-time PGA Tour winner elaborated on his answer and said (via ASAP Sports):

"Yeah, I mean, Scottie is the best player in the world right now. You know, he's not only a great player but a great human. I really enjoy being around him and learning from him. I enjoy beating him. But what's great is on a team like this, now I root for him, which is really fun. There is so much you can learn in these team rooms and practice rounds. You know, we're the 12 best players in the U.S. right now. You can just feed off each other and guys are willing to give advice and ask questions to learn things. So I'm trying to be a sponge as much as I can to soak those things up."

At the 2024 Presidents Cup, Scottie Scheffler and Wyndham Clark will be two of the key players for Team USA. While Scheffler won seven events on the PGA Tour and the Olympic gold this season, Clark won one event but had eight top-10 finishes.
