See you later, alligator - Gribble's brave move at Bay Hill

An alligator on a golf course

What would you do if you came across an alligator on a golf course? Pass with caution? Run away screaming?

Cody Gribble had a very different approach as he neared the end of his first round at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Having spotted a gator lurking by a lake as he wandered up the sixth hole, his 15th, Gribble boldly opted to give the reptile a tap on its tail.

Thankfully for the Texan, the animal responded by diving into the water, rather than spinning round and showing its teeth.

In a short video of the incident posted on the PGA Tour website, a commentator says: "Well, you know what - when you're not going all that well, at four over par, you take some chances."

It's not a chance we would recommend taking any time soon.
