Stunning details of Tiger Woods' new golf project in Utah revealed

US golfer Tiger Woods is not only a legendary player but is also skilled at designing golf courses. His design firm, TGR, has announced its latest golf project.

The 18-hole course dubbed Marcella Club will be built at a new alpine ski resort in Park City, Utah. This will be Tiger Woods' fourth 18-hole original project and his first which will be routed through the mountains.

Now, new stunning details about the project have been revealed. According to an early rendering, the par-72 course will be over 8,000 yards from the back tees, with a par 5 (the 10th) that could stretch to over 700 yards and a par 3 (15th) that tips out at 292 yards.

Tiger’s course design in Utah is 8000 yards from the tips. How about starting your day on #1 from 660? There are 4 more par 5’s that are all 600 yards+ including the 10th hole which comes in at 702 😳 https://t.co/lY817ha7WL

Each par 5 would be over 600 yards long. Of course, because Park City is 7,000 feet above sea level, the holes won't last nearly that long. There are also a few par 4s that are less than 400 yards from the championship tees, as well as a par 3 that is no more than 150 yards.

The course will be part of a 36-hole course shared by Marcella Mountain and Marcella at Jordanelle Ridge, with private homesite options available at both.

The development will provide ski-in/ski-out access to Deer Valley, a former Winter Olympics venue. According to the company, this will be North America's first world-class alpine village built since 1981.

"I couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Marcella Club to design and create a new championship golf course just outside Park City."

The 47-year-old further added that Utah offers great outdoor activities in all seasons. He also specified that he is designing the new course for players of all abilities to enjoy playing there.

"Utah is an incredible place, with favorable year-round weather that offers opportunities to be active outdoors throughout all four seasons—golfing, skiing, biking, hiking, and fishing—the list goes on and on. I’m thrilled to be designing a course in such a special location; this new course is uniquely beautiful and will offer engaging play for every ability."

Tiger Woods also elaborated on the thought process that goes behind his latest venture.

"I am fortunate with many design opportunities, but I'm extremely selective in which projects I take on. Two key factors for me are being able to work with great partners on great properties. My team has built a superb relationship with our partners on Marcella."

"I’m excited to announce my latest golf course design project at Marcella Club in Park City, Utah! The course will offer engaging play for every ability. My intent is to create a world-class golf experience to pair with Marcella Club’s vision for modern luxury living."
