“There’s a lot of food and I don’t go hungry” – When Jack Nicklaus revealed his ‘specially tailored food plan’ to lose weight
Legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus once dropped 15 pounds after adopting a specially tailored food plan. The American golfer is one of the most successful in the world with 18 Major titles, the highest in history. He has been blessed with a decorated career.
Back in 1989 after Thanksgiving, Nicklaus was stressed over his weight, as he reportedly was heaviest since 1969. So he adopted a specially tailored diet plan and shed 15 pounds in two weeks.
Recently, Golf Digest shared an article from their 1990 edition of the magazine which talked about Nicklaus' diet plan. The legendary golfer opened up about his weight loss journey at that time and said, via Golf Digest:
"There’s a lot of food and I don’t go hungry. I feel better than I have in years. The eating habits and the treatment on my bad back all go together, and the result is that I feel really healthy, and my golf swing is freer than it’s been for seven years.”
Jack Nicklaus' 14-day food plan included a minimum of 10 eight-ounce glasses of water every day. It had properly structured meal plans which helped him shed weight.
Nicklaus has retired from the game after a successful career. He has won 117 professional tournaments in his career, including 73 on the PGA Tour, the third highest. He has won the Masters six times, the PGA Championship five times, the U.S. Open four times, and The Open Championship three times.
