
US PGA Championship Social Diary: Matsuyama surges as Pampling rushes at Quail Hollow

Hideki Matsuyama was red hot at the US PGA Championship on Friday, surging into a share of the lead at Quail Hollow.
The Japanese star fired a bogey-free seven-under 64 to be alongside Kevin Kisner (67) atop the leaderboard at eight under.
But the second round is not yet complete after rain in Charlotte saw a delay on Friday.
Other stars – Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy among them – found themselves in trouble during their rounds, while Rod Pampling produced one of the worst tee shots ever seen.
