Video: Fowler ready for PGA Championship
American golfer Rickie Fowler warned on Monday (5th August) that “you don’t want to mess with the rough” at Oak Hill, where this weeks PGA Championship takes place.
Rickie Fowler: “I’m excited, I played fairly well last week, I hit a lot of good shots, I had a couple of stretches of holes that kind of cost me, but I feel like my swing is coming around, I’ve been starting to play well. You talked about how I had a good finish at the US Open earlier in the summer, so I’m excited about here, I really like the golf course and it looks like we are going to have some good weather this week.”
Rickie Fowler (On the course at Oak Hill) “It’s very straight forward, it’s not too tricked up, kind of what you see is what you get. But there is a lot of rough, it’s very thick and you’re going to have drive the ball on the fairway. Yeah you don’t want to mess with the rough.”
Fowler finished in joint-10th at the US Open and will be looking for even better at Oak Hill.
