WATCH: Tiger Woods makes his first birdie of the day at the 603-yard 6th at Open Championship
After failure at the 2024 US Open, Tiger Woods is currently playing at The Open Championship 2024. In Round 1 at Royal Troon Golf Club, Woods scored eight over par. This particular round was yet another disappointing outing for the American golf legend.
However, it seems that Woods is focused on making amends in Round 2. On Friday, Woods made his first birdie of the day at Royal Troon. The 48-year-old scored this birdie on the par-5 6th hole. Woods made a 21ft putt to card a score of 2-over on day 2.
As of now, Tiger Woods has completed playing the front nine in Round 2. After playing nine holes at Royal Troon, Woods is currently 3-over. Apart from the par-5 6th hole, Woods has not been able to score a single birdie till now. It will be interesting to see if that changes once he completes his play.

While Woods has not been in the best form in recent times, it's important to note that the 15-time Major winner has won The Open Championship on three different occasions. Hence, if there is anyone who has the experience to script a comeback and make the cut, it has to be Woods.
Tiger Woods reflected on his poor start at The Open Championship 2024
Apart from The Genesis Invitational earlier this year, Tiger Woods has only played in Major championships this year. While Woods did not perform well in any of the Major he played in, Round 1 of The Open Championship was the worst start he had in the ongoing season.
In Round 1 of The Open, Woods scored 79, which put the hopes of him making the cut in serious doubt. After the play ended in Round 1 at Royal Troon, Woods spoke about his poor start in the final Major of the year. Tiger Woods said:
"I didn't do a whole lot of things right today. I made that putt on the 3rd hole, and then I think I had, what, three 3-putts today. I didn't hit my irons very close, and I didn't give myself a whole lot of looks today. I need to shoot something in the mid-60s tomorrow to get something going on the weekend."
While Woods hasn't achieved anything significant apart from one birdie in the front nine in Round 2, it will be interesting to see if he can turn things around in the last nine holes he plays. If not, then this will be the third consecutive Major in which Woods will fail to make the cut.
