Who is Emily Pedersen? Exploring everything about the Danish pro golfer

Europe’s Emily Pedersen made headlines by becoming the second player in Solheim Cup history to hit a hole-in-one.

Her journey in golf began at a young age when she displayed immense promise as a junior golfer. Notable highlights from her amateur days include clinching the 2013 International European Ladies Amateur Championship and the 2014 British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship.

In 2015, Pedersen made the significant leap to the professional circuit, marking the onset of an impressive career on the Ladies European Tour. Her debut year as a professional golfer was nothing short of spectacular.

As a rookie, the Danish golfer secured her maiden LET victory at the Hero Women's Indian Open in 2015. This early success laid the foundation for a career filled with remarkable achievements. Her outstanding performance that year earned her the coveted title of LET Rookie of the Year.

In the morning foursomes session, she and Charley Hull faced a tough battle against American duo Ally Ewing and Cheyenne Knight, ultimately losing 5 and 4. However, the afternoon four-ball session held a surprise in store.

As the afternoon four-ball session progressed, Pedersen's fortunes took a significant turn on the 12th hole. This par 3 presented a unique challenge, with players navigating the slope off the green to get closer to the hole. However, her ball landed in the perfect spot, took a sharp turn to the right, and rolled effortlessly into the bottom of the cup.

Pedersen's hole-in-one at the 2023 Solheim Cup was no ordinary achievement. She joined an exclusive club of golfers who have accomplished this rare feat in the tournament's history.

Notably, her teammate and assistant captain, Anna Nordqvist, was the first to achieve a hole-in-one in the Solheim Cup, accomplishing this remarkable feat in 2013.
