Fantasy Football 2017-18: Three QBs to pick in week 3
In every football team, the quarterback is the most important player as he calls all the plays. The same can be said for our fantasy teams as the Quarterbacks are usually the players who score the highest points each night.
So, there is always a dilemma about which QB to choose before the start of the week. On that note, here is a list of potential candidates for week 3:
#1 Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers)
2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton comes into this NFL season after a disappointing 16-17 campaign with the Panthers, where the number of touchdowns thrown dropped from 35 to 19 and passing rate dipped from 99 to 75.
He went under the knife in the offseason to repair a partially torn rotor cuff in his throwing shoulder, so he isn't quite 100% fit coming into this season.
His start to the new season hasn't been smooth either, as he put up some below-par performances against the 49ers and the Bills, throwing only 171 and 228 yards respectively. To make matters worse, he lost TE Greg Olsen to a foot injury.
But this week, he faces the below-par defensive unit of the New Orleans Saints which allowed 793 yards, 7 touchdowns with no interceptions and gave up 11.2 yards per pass attempt in their last two matches. With an offensive unit that consists of Kelvin Benjamin and Christian McCaffrey, Cam will be licking his lips with anticipation come Sunday night.
