Jason Witten expects Dez Bryant to sign with Packers

Jason Witten believes his former Dallas Cowboys team-mate Dez Bryant will join the Green Bay Packers.

Bryant, who played alongside Witten for his entire career, was recently cut by the Cowboys and remains unsigned.

Neither man will pull on the Dallas jersey for the upcoming season after Witten's retirement but the former tight end thinks he knows where Bryant will land.

"I think Dez is certainly going to have some great opportunities. He's motivated and I think he's going to end up going to the Green Bay Packers," Witten said on The Adam Schefter Podcast.

Though the Packers drafted three wide receivers in this year's NFL Draft, they lack established options after releasing Jordy Nelson, who signed with the Oakland Raiders.

The Packers retained Davante Adams and Randall Cobb, and signed tight end Jimmy Graham, but Bryant's ability to pick up first downs and contribute in the red zone could be enticing to quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

"Rodgers, he throws that back-shoulder throw so well and Dez has great chemistry with a good quarterback that can put the ball wherever he wants," said Witten, the new voice of Monday Night Football.

"Because I still believe Dez can high-point the football as good as any other wide receiver in the National Football League."

Bryant reportedly turned down a multi-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens before the Draft, hoping to secure a one-year "prove-it" deal. Should he end up in Green Bay, he may finally get a chance to contend for his first Super Bowl appearance.
