Seahawks star Sherman: I understand trade talk is just business
Rumours began swirling this week that teams were calling up the Seattle Seahawks on Richard Sherman's status but the Pro-Bowl cornerback is not going anywhere.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the NFL franchise have fielded offers for 29-year-old star Sherman, who has two years remaining on his contract.
Fear not, Seahawks fans. The four-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion is happy in Seattle.
"I wouldn't want to leave this city and my guys, but I understand it's a business and organizational philosophies change," Sherman told 710 ESPN in a statement on Thursday.
Sherman was thought to be at odds with his coaches at team-mates this past season when he had a sideline spat in October during Seattle's win against the Atlanta Falcons.
In the Seahawks win over the Los Angeles Rams in December, Sherman also became animated with Carroll and offensive co-ordinator Darrell Bevell.
