Texans’ JJ Watt receives honorary doctorate for Hurricane Harvey work
J.J. Watt can add a doctorate degree to his impressive list of off-field achievements.
On Tuesday, the Houston Texans defensive end was awarded an honorary doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine for his relief work following Hurricane Harvey.
Watt raised more than $37 million for Harvey relief after setting an initial goal of $200,000 and was awarded the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his accomplishment.
The four-time All-Pro was also named the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year and included on the TIME 100 list of the most influential people in the world.
