5 basic things we expect to get added to GTA Online
Grand Theft Auto 6 will finally be out next year, but until then, GTA Online is tasked with entertaining players. The 2013 multiplayer got a major DLC, Bottom Dollar Bounties, back in June this year, but there might be a few more left to come before the sequel. It cannot be said what these DLCs will exactly add, but we can expect some basic features that usually get introduced with them.
In this article, we look at five such basic things we expect to get added to Grand Theft Auto Online.
Note - None of the entries are confirmed to be added yet. This article is subjective and only reflects the writer's opinions. These entries are arranged in no particular order.
New Career Progress Challenges and 4 other basic things we expect to get added in GTA Online
1) New cars
Cars are among the most basic things to be added with major DLCs. Some are made available at launch, and others are drip-fed moving forward as GTA Online weekly update additions.
Ubermacht Niobe, Annis Euros X32, and Overflod Pipistrello are some of the new cars introduced in the Bottom Dollar Bounties update. And if Rockstar Games releases more major DLCs, we can expect even more new cars to get added.
2) More daily events
Numerous daily events have also been added to the game over the years. These are simple activities that players can partake in every day, such as finding the GTA Online Gun Van location, robbing Stash Houses, collecting G's Cache, and more.
The Bottom Dollar Bounties update also added some new daily events such as LS Tags and Madrazo Bounty Hits. So, if more major DLCs get released in the future, among its additions might be such basic daily events.
3) New Career Progress Challenges
Career Progress Challenges are only available in Grand Theft Auto Online's PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. They task players with completing four tiers of challenges related to Contact Missions as well as businesses added with previous DLCs, giving them cash and other rewards in return.
Notably, new challenges have been added with each major DLC ever since this feature's introduction in Summer 2023. So, regardless of what potential future DLCs are themed around (business, heist, or missions), we can expect to see some new Career Progress Challenges.
4) Tommy Vercetti Outfit
Completing a certain amount of Tier 4 Career Progress Challenges unlocks iconic outfits of Grand Theft Auto protagonists like Michael De Santa, Trevor Philips, Franklin Clinton, Claude, Niko Bellic, and Carl "CJ" Johnson. Fan-favorite GTA Vice City protagonist, Tommy Vercetti's outfit, has been left out for some reason.
Rockstar has never explained why that is the case, but it could be related to the series' next entry, which will be heading back to Vice City. GTA 6 releases in Fall 2025, so we might get Tommy's outfit added leading up to it as a teaser in Grand Theft Auto Online.
5) More Quality-Of-Life updates
Grand Theft Auto Online, despite all its success, is far from a perfect game. Luckily, Rockstar Games has been making some significant Quality-Of-Life updates with the last few major DLCs. For instance, players were allowed to claim all destroyed cars at once from Mors Mutual after the San Andreas Mercenaries update.
The recent GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties update increased the timer for Bunker and MC Business Sell missions for solo players and even increased the payout of certain jobs. Since there is still room for improvement, we can expect more of such Quality-Of-Life updates to drop in the future.
Readers are once again reminded that none of these things are confirmed to be added in Grand Theft Auto Online yet.
