5 features we'd like to see in GTA Online someday

Grand Theft Auto 5's multiplayer, GTA Online, has provided a lot of entertainment to players over the last decade. Rockstar Games still supports the title by dropping DLCs at periodic intervals, the latest of which, as of this writing, dropped in the latter half of June 2024. However, there are still a few things that should be added to provide a much more enjoyable experience overall.

This may not only prove beneficial right now but might also keep those on last-gen consoles as well as PC entertained for a while after Grand Theft Auto 6 releases. So, let's take a look at five features we'd like to see in GTA Online someday.

More VIP Contracts and 4 other features we'd like to see in GTA Online someday

1) No Police in PvP

The Police are an important part of Grand Theft Auto games as they are played from the perspective of a criminal. While that is also true in GTA Online, interference from cops can sometimes become annoying when players engage in PvP combat with their friends or other players in the same session as them.

Therefore, it would be great to have an option to stop the police from interfering in PvP someday. Grand Theft Auto 4's multiplayer featured a similar option, and this title could benefit from such a feature as well.

2) Ranked lobbies

Joining a public GTA Online session can be a nightmare if you are a beginner. The players in your lobby can be of a very high rank, leaving you with little to no options to counter them. This is why many prefer playing in Invite Only sessions.

While that can be considered a fix, it rids players of the multiplayer experience. Therefore, Rockstar should add ranked lobbies to the game, essentially ensuring a level playing field for all.

3) New VIP Contracts

The VIP Contract in GTA Online is a part of its Celebrity Solutions Agency business. While its million-dollar payout is a major attraction, the involvement of popular American rapper Dr. Dre also adds to its appeal.

However, it should be noted that this contract was added a few years ago and has now become a little boring after so many playthroughs. In short, the game could use a breath of fresh air in this department, meaning that Rockstar should add new VIP Contracts, ideally featuring more popular real-life celebrities.

4) A business featuring Michael De Santa

Michael De Santa is the only one out of the three lead characters in Grand Theft Auto 5 to have not appeared in its online mode yet. That is quite odd considering his popularity among Grand Theft Auto fans, who have constantly been asking for a Michael DLC in GTA Online.

Although Rockstar Games hasn't stated or hinted anything about this, it would be great to see the protagonist in action again, involved in some sort of business like Franklin is in the Agency. For instance, it could be a movie production business, as Michael fulfilled his dream of producing a movie by the end of GTA 5's story mode.

5) Cross-play

Cross-play has become pretty common in modern online video games but it is still absent from GTA Online. Some hope for its inclusion in Grand Theft Auto 6's potential online mode, but it would be great to see the feature being added to the 2013 title someday as well.

Needless to say, cross-play would be quite exciting, and add a really fresh element to the title. Additionally, players on platforms without Grand Theft Auto 6 could really use the feature to keep themselves busy and entertained in the future.
