5 reasons why GTA 6 surpasses GTA 4's realism
When it comes to realism, GTA 4 holds a special place in the gaming community. Now, GTA 6 is expected to set new standards in terms of video game realism once has been released. While the notorious September 2022 leaks received mixed reactions from fans, the first trailer silenced all questions raised about its gameplay quality. The reveal video left fans starstruck, craving for more details from the upcoming game.

5 features that make GTA 6’s realism far superior to GTA 4
1) Surreal graphics
The graphics and details in the GTA 6 trailer have deeply impacted the gaming community, leaving fans excited for its release. The video showed surreal footage of a fictional Miami disguised as Vice City.
GTA 4’s graphics also received a similar reaction when it was first revealed. But, technology has improved since then. Presently, the 2008 title’s graphics look blurry and have a low resolution.
2) More advanced physics
The Euphoria physics is one of the reasons that compels fans to play GTA 4 in 2024. It was long hailed as the best title in terms of in-game physics. However, the GTA 6 leaks and the official trailer revealed that Rockstar Games has been working on a more advanced physics system.
The most notable thing is the jiggle physics in GTA 6. Whether it is body parts, hair, or other environmental objects, the upcoming title has near-realistic animation for movable objects. GTA 4’s movements are also the best in the class, but they look outdated compared to the upcoming game.
3) Ray tracing and global illumination
GTA 4 has little to no advanced graphics properties, most notably on the PC version. However, the attention to detail in the GTA 6 gameplay disclosed various things about the use of improved graphics features. Many fans believe that Rockstar Games used ray tracing and global illumination in the first trailer in various moments.
The scenes including vehicles were thoroughly examined by eagle-eyed fans, where it was discovered that the mirrors and glass panels were showing real-time reflections of various things. Many objects also cast accurate shadows.
4) Heavy emphasis on social media
Social media is expected to play a huge role in GTA 6, which is also the case in real life. The first trailer showed a slew of social media clips, emphasizing their importance. GTA 4 also features social media in the form of email and dating websites. However, it is a limited feature and players have to visit internet cafes to access them.
GTA 6’s integration of social media feels more realistic, as it features Instagram and TikTok-like applications. The 2022 leaks also mentioned Lifeinvader and WhatUp, which are believed to be parodies of Facebook and WhatsApp.
5) Highly detailed open world
The open world of the upcoming game is expected to be more detailed than all other Grand Theft Auto series games. While Rockstar Games has yet to reveal the full version of the new map, the first trailer already hinted that it will be more immersive than GTA 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5.
Considering the price of GTA 6 is rumored to be on the higher side, Rockstar should consider including a highly detailed realistic open world.
