5 reasons why GTA 6 will be a generational leap forward
The much anticipated next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series, GTA 6, will finally release next year. It is one of the most talked-about things in the gaming community and has been so for quite some time. This is not only because of the long gap between its release and that of Grand Theft Auto 5, but also because of the technological advancements it could make.
Although its features and gameplay mechanics are yet to be showcased officially, it being a Rockstar Games title builds hope. So, in this article, we will take a look at five reasons why GTA 6 will be a generational leap forward.
Note: This article is subjective and only reflects the writer's opinions.
Here are five possible reasons why GTA 6 will be a generational leap forward
1) The magnitude
Grand Theft Auto 6 will mark the debut of Leonida, a fictional state likely based on Florida. The first official trailer showcased the level of detail that has gone into crafting it, and fans are very much impressed so far. Even Rockstar's official website describes the upcoming title as the biggest and most immersive evolution of the series yet.
In addition to the map and general gameplay, the integration of social media might further expand the next Grand Theft Auto game's magnitude, as suggested by the glimpses in its first trailer.
2) Rockstar Games' reputation
Rockstar Games is a highly regarded name in the gaming industry and essentially means quality. Most Grand Theft Auto titles have been ahead of their time in one way or the other, and the same could be the case with GTA 6 too.
Even Red Dead Redemption 2, a title that came out in 2018, arguably remains the most technically advanced game to this day. And as Rockstar usually takes things a step ahead with each new release, Grand Theft Auto 6 could very well be a generational leap forward. That being said, fans hope that the GTA 6 price doesn't take any such leaps.
3) It is not held back by Last-Gen tech
The GTA 6 release date is set for Fall 2025 and it will only be coming to Current-Gen consoles. For those wondering, these are the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. While that is unfortunate for PS4 and Xbox One users, it is good news considering that Rockstar won't have to hold back the game in order to make it run on Last-Gen consoles.
In a nutshell, the developer can take advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles' technological prowess to shape its next release into something truly special.
4) High NPC density
One area where Grand Theft Auto 6 looks to be taking a significant technological leap is the NPC density. Areas like Ocean Drive and especially the beach were packed with people in the trailer akin to real life, and that was unlike anything ever seen, at least in the Grand Theft Auto series.
What's also worth noting is the detail and variation these NPC character models exhibited, which almost seems on par with major GTA 6 characters shown so far.
5) Lighting and visual effects
The GTA 6 trailer showcases some seriously impressive visual effects right from the first shot to the last. As already stated, the character models look very detailed, and so does the surrounding environment, the combination of which provides a realistic touch to the game, making it look better than many modern titles.
The lighting was also quite remarkable, exhibiting dominant pink, orange, and yellow hues in the sky for different times of the day, adding character. There are other games that boast such things, but that in GTA 6 looks a cut above, and with time still left in its release, Rockstar could further improve these elements.
While the aforementioned things build a lot of excitement, it is best to temper our expectations with Grand Theft Auto 6. More details should be provided leading up to its release, possibly via additional trailers.
