5 reasons to quit playing GTA Online and wait for its successor
There is no doubt that Rockstar Games’ GTA Online is one of the most-played online multiplayer games today. Despite surpassing 10 years, a significant majority of the playerbase is still active from various gaming platforms. The developer also adds new things from time to time to keep the game alive. However, since the release of GTA 6 is on the horizon, it is time you should take a break from the game and wait for the release date.
This article lists five reasons why you should quit GTA Online and wait a few months for the release of its successor.

Five reasons to quit GTA Online in 2024 and wait for the release of GTA 6
1) Increased microtransactions
Rockstar Games has gradually increased the number of microtransactions in GTA Online. Initially, Shark Cards were the only microtransactions you could avail in the game. Later it introduced The Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack which was also optional for veteran players, and the lack of it does not affect much in the game.
However, the GTA Plus membership benefits are the newly introduced microtransactions and they are very much intrusive. Rockstar even bars you from accessing certain in-game features if you don’t have a monthly subscription. Paying a monthly fee to unlock extra features in a decade-old game is unjustifiable and therefore a reason to quit it in 2024.
2) Repetitive gameplay
The GTA Online gameplay is very repetitive and can bore you pretty quickly. If you are not a serious grinder, the lack of variations in the online multiplayer game may surprise you. Rockstar Games even recycles old content from Story Mode to include in the multiplayer version.
Therefore, until the gaming studio releases Grand Theft Auto 6 Online you should take a break from the current multiplayer game and try other options. Playing GTA Online occasionally is also fine as long as you are enjoying the gameplay. However, it should not be taken as the only source of entertainment.
3) Try RP instead
If you are a hardcore fan of online gaming and also have a licensed PC copy of Grand Theft Auto 5, then you must try Grand Theft Auto RP. Unlike GTA Online, RP gameplays are created by third-party skilled modders and offer a unique experience compared to the official version.
There are hundreds of best GTA 5 RP servers and you can join most of them for free. The RP experience is all about sticking to the character and doing things as you’d do in real life. There are no flying cars and bikes or futuristic weapons in the RP gameplay.
4) Griefers and Modders
One of the major issues in GTA Online is its griefers and modders. While the latter is primarily available on PC, griefers can be found on each platform. Rockstar Games also actively promotes griefing by alerting other players about your activities and incentivizing them to destroy your progress.
Many players who prefer playing in public lobbies are fed up with griefers. If you too are done with random players ruining your GTA Online experience, then you should quit the game and wait for its successor to release in 2025.
5) Low-scale DLCs
The DLCs in the multiplayer game are getting smaller and smaller with every update. Earlier, Rockstar Games used to release sizeable DLCs with content that could be played for months. However, after the GTA 6 release window announcement, GTA Online DLCs feel like minor updates.
The most recent Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC update also followed suit and the hype was over within a month of its release. Therefore, it is time you should quit the game and look forward to the upcoming gameplay.
