5 reasons to temper your expectations for GTA 6
GTA 6 is the hottest topic in the world of gaming at the moment and has been so for quite a while now. The upcoming Rockstar Games title will be the first new installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise in over a decade, and the long wait has resulted in fans building up a lot of expectations. Although the studio's releases often have high quality, it is still best to keep one's excitement in check.
In this article, we will take a look at five reasons why you should keep expectations low from GTA 6.

Why you might want to keep your expectations from GTA 6 low
1) Not much has been revealed about it officially
There are a lot of rumors about Grand Theft Auto 6 that sound very exciting but haven't been confirmed in any way. These include gameplay features, map size, plot details, and other aspects.
Most of these rumors aren't backed by any reliable sources, and believing them can lead to disappointment when or if those elements are absent from the game. This is a big reason why readers should keep their expectations in check when it comes to the upcoming title.
2) Leaks don't mean confirmed
The GTA 6 leaks from September 2022 were the first major source of information on the Grand Theft Auto sequel. There were many things showcased in the development clips that generated a lot of buzz in the gaming community.
However, even though Rockstar Games confirmed the footage to be authentic, it should be noted that many things can be cut from the game between development and final release. In a nutshell, all the things shown in the leaks may not be part of the finished product.
3) Bugs and glitches are common in modern titles
While Rockstar Games is a name synonymous with quality, the presence of some sort of bugs and glitches is very common in modern titles. Even Grand Theft Auto Online still suffers from many glitches despite being on the market for a decade. The developer keeps patching it via background updates.
It wouldn't be surprising if there are bugs or glitches present in GTA 6 around launch. It would be wise to not expect a title as big as the next Grand Theft Auto to be completely flawless from the get-go.
4) Many of the original Rockstar Games cast have left
Dan Houser, Lazlow Jones, and Leslie Benzies are some of the names that long-term Grand Theft Auto fans are familiar with. They have been instrumental in crafting the best Rockstar Games titles over the years but have now left the company.
Hence, there is a possibility that GTA 6 may feel different from past installments. While this doesn't mean that the game will be bad as Rockstar still has a lot of talent, it would be better to not have unrealistic expectations from it.
5) The narrative seems to be heading in a new direction
GTA 6's Lucia will be the first proper female protagonist in the series. The leaks also featured a playable male protagonist, reportedly named Jason. An individual resembling him appeared in the game's trailer, and he seems to be romantically involved with Lucia.
The idea sounds very interesting and could end up being just that, but it is still a very different narrative approach for a Grand Theft Auto title's protagonists. Whether it will work or not remains to be seen, so fans should keep their expectations low at the moment and wait to see how things pan out.
