5 things to expect from GTA 6's Leonida

After roaming across southern San Andreas in GTA 5 for the last 10 years, fans will be heading over to Leonida in GTA 6. This fictional location will debut with the Grand Theft Auto series' upcoming installment and seems to be inspired by Florida. As of this writing, we know that Vice City, the series' iteration of Miami, will be a part of it.

However, there might be more to Leonida than it currently seems, as very little has been showcased by Rockstar Games so far. In this article, we will take a look at five things to expect from Grand Theft Auto 6's Leonida.

Note: This article is purely speculative and none of the entries have been officially confirmed to be a part of the game yet.

Second major city and 4 other things to expect from GTA 6's Leonida

1) Florida Man random events

Given that Leonida is likely Grand Theft Auto's version of Florida, we can expect Rockstar to reference some Florida Man memes in it. The first official GTA 6 trailer featured some of them as in-game social media clips, but more might pop up as random interactable events in Leonida.

These could be like random NPC encounters as in Red Dead Redemption 2 or the Strangers and Freaks missions in Grand Theft Auto 5, adding more intriguing elements to the game.

2) Second major city

Vice City is the only confirmed major city in Grand Theft Auto 6 at the moment. However, since Leonida will be an entire state, leaving room for an additional major city. This is something that fans haven't seen in the series since Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, which had three major cities—Los Santos, Las Venturas, and San Fierro.

While a second major city is yet to be officially confirmed, Port Gellhorn could be that. Having said that, not much is currently known about GTA 6 map's Port Gellhorn area besides what was mentioned in the title's leaked development clips.

3) Multiple accessible interiors

One of Grand Theft Auto 5's major downsides was the lack of accessible interiors. Even basic interiors like interactable restaurants, which have been a part of the series before, were blocked off in the 2013 installment. Fans have often complained about it as well, which is why Rockstar might look to fix it in the sequel.

Notably, some of the debug code spotted in the GTA 6 leaks seemingly hinted at many accessible interiors. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S' technological prowess should also help in implementing such a thing, but official confirmation of the same is yet to arrive.

4) Small towns or settlements

While it isn't known whether GTA 6's map will be bigger than that of its predecessor, it can at least be expected to be of a similar scale. In order to make the map feel more alive outside of Vice City, even if there ends up being a second major city, Rockstar might need to add small towns or settlements across Leonida.

This was seen in Red Dead Redemption 2 with areas like Valentine, Strawberry, and Rhodes. Grand Theft Auto 5 features small towns like Paleto Bay, Sandy Shores, and Grapeseed as well.

5) Creepy elements

Besides the story, missions, and characters, Grand Theft Auto titles have also featured creepy elements and Easter Eggs. Some of the most recent examples of that come from Grand Theft Auto 5, wherein players can find a ghost and even encounter the Big Foot.

Fans expect more creepy/paranormal things than ever before in GTA 6, and a leaked world event mentioning the Skunk Ape (Florida's version of The Big Foot) suggests that might just be the case.

As already stated, the inclusion of these things hasn't been confirmed yet, but with GTA 6's release date set for Fall 2025, we won't have to wait too long to find out.
