5 things GTA Online should bring back from GTA 4 Online
Grand Theft Auto 5's multiplayer, GTA Online, is incredibly popular among gamers and has been going strong since its inception in 2013. While it is revered for bringing the typical Grand Theft Auto experience to a multiplayer environment, this wasn't Rockstar Games' first attempt at doing so. In fact, the developer's 2008 title, GTA 4, had its own, albeit a little different, online mode.
While it wasn't as expansive or successful as its successor, it had certain elements that should've been carried forward. However, Rockstar can still consider adding them to keep the 2013 title entertaining until its sequel releases next year. So, here are five things GTA Online should bring back from GTA 4 Online.

Disabling cops and 4 other things GTA Online should bring back from GTA 4 Online
1) Joining games based on preferences
Joining a GTA Online session is pretty straightforward, which seems like a good thing, and is the case to some degree. However, players could join sessions based on their preferences in GTA 4 Online, which could be set on the in-game mobile phone.
Bringing it back would allow players more freedom of choice in the newer title, which in turn might render its public sessions more enjoyable. Notably, this feature wasn't available on the PC version of the game, but that should be changed if it is brought back in a future GTA Online DLC.
2) Disabling friendly fire
GTA Online griefers are possibly the biggest reason why many now play alone in private sessions. Needless to say, this counteracts the point of a multiplayer Grand Theft Auto title existing.
That being said, it can be fixed by bringing back the friendly fire customization option from GTA 4 Online. Disabling it would result in you only taking damage from NPCs or other environmental factors. Such an option can single-handedly put an end to griefers causing menace in public sessions.
3) Disabling cops
Players also had the option to disable cops in GTA 4 Online's freemode. Cops are an integral part of Grand Theft Auto games, and fans even hope for improved police in GTA 6. But there should be an option to restrict their role at least in multiplayer modes.
This feature would also be of great use in GTA Online's freemode, as attaining a wanted level when messing around with friends in PvP can be extremely intrusive and annoying.
4) Shorter reload animations
Weapons in GTA 4 Online had shorter reload animations compared to that in story mode. In fact, players were also able to switch between them more quickly. While not extremely important, these things have the potential to make both PvP and PvE fast-paced and likely more enjoyable.
Having said that, if brought back, Rockstar Games should implement it in way that renders each GTA Online weapon's reaload animation relatively shorter, instead of it being exactly the same for all.
5) Health, weapon, and armor pickups
GTA Online players have to spend cash for every little thing, which can seem like an inconvenience at times. But GTA 4 Online had health, weapon, and armor pickups present across the map at certain locations.
Something like this being added to the former title can make its PvP scenarios quite fun and maybe even unpredictable in way. This feature would especially help beginners as they are usually low on cash and can use such an assistance at the beginning of their journey.
