5 time-saving things we would like to see in GTA 6

GTA 6 is expected to be the most technologically-advanced and feature-rich game from the Grand Theft Auto series. As such, time management is one of the most important upgrades it should have. Whether it's through a fast-travel system, greatly reduced load times, or even skippable cutscenes in online mode, time-saving should be an important end goal.

Players already waste enough time when traveling across the map in large open-world games, so there should be ways to make this seem less boring. In this regard, we've prepared a list of methods for GTA 6 to use if it wants to make efficient use of time.

5 ways in which GTA 6 should save time

1) Fast travel

A fast travel system is a no-brainer when it comes to saving time in an open-world video game. The Leonida map in GTA 6 is expected to be massive, so there should definitely be a fast travel system in place. This could be implemented in different ways.

For instance, the subway system, which in this case includes the Vice City Metro Mule, could be used for easy travel between different points of the city, much like in the first Saints Row title.

Rockstar Games could replicate the air travel feature from San Andreas, but this would require multiple airports or airfields. A taxi service could also make sense, or there could simply be a way to move between safehouses through a loading screen.

2) Taxi service for missions

A major complaint that players have made in regards to the missions in Grand Theft Auto 5 and its multiplayer mode is that some of them waste too much time in traveling. The San Andreas map is quite vast, and spending half of the duration of a mission driving isn't fun, especially when it becomes a common theme throughout the campaign.

The open-world environment in the next game is expected to be quite big, as revealed by the GTA 6 mapping project. A taxi service that directly takes you to the next checkpoint during a mission would save a lot of time.

3) Skippable cutscenes

This mostly applies to the online mode in the next game, as all mission and property-related cutscenes in Grand Theft Auto Online are unskippable. They are often boring and unnecessarily long. So, when you purchase a new property or start up a particular heist for the first time, you'll have to waste several minutes watching something you don't want to.

GTA 6 Online should make all its cutscenes skippable to avoid wasting time.

4) Session details shouldn't reset after a mission/heist

Certain missions, heists, and even the different game modes in GTA Online take you to a different session. However, once you're done, instead of returning you to your previous session or starting a new one with the last-used settings, the title just starts up a default public session. So, if you were playing in an invite only server, you'll have to reload the game yet again, wasting precious time.

Grand Theft Auto 6 should remember the type of session you last used and return you to a similar one.

5) Faster load times

This may seem like another no-brainer that Rockstar Games will most likely add in GTA 6. However, it should be noted that it took the developer years to speed up the loading process in Grand Theft Auto Online. It was only when a player called "t0st" took it upon themselves to decrease load times did the studio take notice. The unofficial patch made by t0st cut load times down by 70%.

The point is Rockstar should thoroughly research how to cut load times before releasing Grand Theft Auto 6.
