"Bro got a wanted level at home": Cops chase GTA Online player just for entering a car, fans react

GTA Online is fun for the most part but players often run into bugs, glitches, or certain unexplainable events. One such occurrence was recently reported on Reddit by u/KEEP_EM_COMINGG, who apparently attained a wanted level without committing any crime in the game. They shared a video of this confusing incident, seeking a plausible explanation from other players.

are gta cops really THAT annoying? i didn't even do anything

As can be seen in the clip above, u/KEEP_EM_COMINGG attains a one-star wanted level upon entering their Pegassi Toreador inside a garage. Reacting to the video, u/iHaveNoidea3501 had this to say:

u/OakleyNoble asked the OP if they had jumped out of an aircraft before entering the garage. Crashing planes and helicopters can attract cops in GTA Online; however, u/KEEP_EM_COMINGG explained that they had just loaded in, and while another player had blown up a car outside with a Pegassi Oppressor MK II, they got the wanted level instead.

"This was like 5 seconds after loading in, some guy with an mk2 flew over my garage and blew up a car and i got the cops"

It is worth noting that few other GTA Online players also seem to have been a part of similar situations. For instance, u/JackTChanceGL claimed that they got a two-star wanted level while just using their in-game phone:

"I got a 2 star wanted level the other day while standing still and checking my texts."

Interestingly, Dannosaurusr3x believes that it is a glitch added with one of the recent GTA Online updates.

"This is another glitch that came about after one of the recent updates. Along with not being able to contact Lester to remove a wanted level, and no CEO menu"

This might be the case since the Union Depository Contract bug and a few other such issues did surface shortly after the Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC released. That being said, there is no confirmation about that actually being the reason behind this odd occurrence as well.

Redditor u/KEEP_EM_COMINGG's recent post has brought an intriguing issue to light. They uploaded a video of them attaining a wanted level for just entering their Pegassi Toreador in a garage, which is pretty odd, to say the least.

That said, other players also reported getting a wanted level without committing a crime in the comments, which suggests that it might be a new GTA Online glitch. If that actually turns out to be the case, Rockstar Games should fix it with a background update at some point. Nevertheless, players should still be able to enjoy the title mostly, as it doesn't seem like a game-breaking issue, but rather a minor inconvenience.
