GTA 5 update today (July 17, 2024): Full patch notes
Rockstar Games has dropped a new GTA 5 patch today, July 17, 2024. However, this isn't a content update like Bottom Dollar Bounties; instead, it's a patch that has implemented some fixes. These cover general stability and security issues as well as a matchmaking and networking glitch, among others. Reputed Rockstar insider and data miner Tez2 shared this patch's arrival ahead of schedule and provided its notes.
While the new update hasn't made monumental changes, it was still necessary to deal with issues faced by a section of the player base. Here's a closer look at the new GTA 5 update's patch notes released today.
New GTA 5 update patches invisible vehicles and few other issues related to the game (July 17, 2024)
Rockstar Games has released plenty of background updates since the Bottom Dollar Bounties update dropped last month. These have fixed a bunch of issues that hampered the overall player experience, and today's update does more of the same.
The new update's patch notes, as provided by Tez2, mention the implementation of general game stability, performance, and security fixes. This is pretty common across such patches and, as usual, hasn't been disclosed in detail.
The July 17 GTA 5 update patch notes then discuss fixing a networking issue that resulted in vehicles becoming inaccessible or invisible. This is likely related to Grand Theft Auto Online, and, based on the comments on the above X post, had seemingly been troubling quite a few players until now.
The final section of the latest GTA 5 update patch notes highlights two miscellaneous fixes. The first seems related to an agreement form wherein clicking on the "I have read and accept text" automatically selected the "I accept" box and submitted the form.
The other fix tackles an issue that prevented players from accessing the Privacy Policy using a mouse.
These were all the things mentioned in the patch notes of the new update. It covers all active platforms for the game: PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Although this isn't a massive update, it keeps the game running in the best possible way. This is important as many will continue playing it until GTA 6 releases next year. Rockstar Games has only dropped one trailer for the sequel so far, but more are expected to be released as we get closer to its Fall 2025 release window.
