GTA 6's third city map: Rumor explored
The Grand Theft Auto series will be heading to Leondia with GTA 6. This fictional state is likely Rockstar Games' iteration of Florida, and among its confirmed locations so far is Vice City, the series' version of Miami. That being said, fans expect the upcoming title to feature at least another major city, which might be Port Gellhorn, which was mentioned a couple of times in the leaked development clips.
There is also a rumor about a possible third city being included in Leonida, which we will be taking a closer look at in this article.
Note: Readers should take such rumors with a grain of salt, as Grand Theft Auto 6's map hasn't been revealed officially yet.
GTA 6 third city map rumor: Everything you need to know
The fan-led GTA 6 mapping project aims to determine what the next Grand Theft Auto title's actual map might look like. This unofficial map has been formed using information from the leaks as well as the trailer and keeps being updated over time.
Redditor u/peekundi recently uploaded an image of the same, pointing out some big empty spaces and suggesting the possibility of a third major city.
Since the information from the GTA 6 leaks and the first official trailer is quite limited, only the area where Vice City is speculated to be has seen the most progress in this fan project. That said, this unofficial map has enough space to fit more than one city. Grand Theft Auto 5's map being superimposed over its sequel's mapping project in the post above also shows that.
However, readers should note that Grand Theft Auto 6's second city itself is yet to be officially confirmed. And without a clear idea of how big the GTA 6 map's Port Gellhorn area could be, if it exists at all, there is no way to know if there would be space left for a possible third city.
Interestingly, Grand Theft Auto 5's map also has space for a major city apart from Los Santos. However, most of it is wilderness, with the very small town of Paleto Bay occupying a relatively tiny portion of the map on the other end. So, even if the sequel's map turns out to have enough space for multiple major cities, it doesn't necessarily mean that will end up being the case.
In a nutshell, there is no way to confirm if there will be a third city in Grand Theft Auto 6 due to the current lack of concrete evidence suggesting so. The upcoming title's map is yet to be officially showcased, and its rumored second city, Port Gellhorn, too remains unconfirmed as of this writing.
