GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties review: The good, the bad, and the worst

The GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC is nearly a month old at this point, and fans have explored almost all aspects of what the update has to offer. Rockstar Games promoted it as a ‘big’ update, hyping the community about what the new gameplay might bring. However, the actual content received mixed reactions from fans.

This article reviews the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties and discusses the good, the bad, and the worst aspects of the update.

GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC: The good

Rockstar Games surprised the player base by adding a new business to the game as part of the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC, a feature typically reserved for winter DLCs. The important features of the business are as follows:

  • A new character named Jenette Eccles, daughter of Maude.
  • Four rotational Bounty Hunting missions.
  • A new Bail Enforcement vehicle.

The introduction of Vigilante missions as Dispact Work jobs brought back the nostalgia of old Grand Theft Auto games. Rockstar also added a fleet of new vehicles, including cop cars. They are as follows:

  • Castigator
  • Impaler LX Cruiser
  • Dominator FX Cruiser
  • Pipistrello
  • Niobe
  • Paragon S
  • Envisage
  • Euros X32
  • Coquette D1
  • Dorado Cruiser
  • SZ Cruiser
  • Cruiser
  • Yosemite 1500

Rockstar has reportedly left some cars to be released later as drip-feed.

GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC: The bad

The unnecessary cooldown times are a hindrance in the DLC. The GTA Online Bounty Hunting missions offer four targets, with three of them having an hour-long cooldown time. The remaining one takes an entire real-life day to get reset. While the latter is understandable, the other three should not have a cooldown period, considering they reward only around $30,000.

Moreover, Rockstar’s obsession with unnecessary loading screens continues with the Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC. Whenever you assign the Bail Office Agents to find targets, each action goes through a black loading screen.

Also, there is no need for Jenette to introduce every target after the first time. The game soft-locks players while she completes her introduction of the target.

GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC: The worst

While the bad things are somewhat bearable, the exorbitant rates of in-game items and paying real-life money for basic QoL features are not. The studio has slowly started to exploit the GTA Plus subscription, where it locks basic features, like remotely claiming money from various Safe Lockers, behind a paywall.

Also, Rockstar claimed to fix various known issues of the game with the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC. But, players are still facing problems like automatic ammo removal and the incompetency of cop cars with various missions. Moreover, the update removed the voice lines of all the Warehouse staff members.

Overall, the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties update is not the worst summer DLC. But, it also doesn’t go beyond the mid-tier experience.
