GTA 5 achieved Rank 2 on the most downloaded PS5 games list as per PlayStation Blog
Even though GTA 5 was released in 2013, it is still being played by millions of gamers worldwide, especially on PlayStation. According to a recent report by PlayStation, Grand Theft Auto 5 was the second-most downloaded game on the PS5 in July 2024, in the US and EU regions. Moreover, the game was the third-most downloaded game on PS4 in the same regions, showing an active player base on last-gen consoles.
Keep in mind that most gamers simply play GTA 5 for its online multiplayer, and Rockstar Games released a brand new DLC for the same two months ago, which could be the reason for the game remains popular among PlayStation users.

On the other hand, the developers are rumored to release a mission creator for the game, possibly hoping to keep players invested till the release of Grand Theft Auto 6.
