GTA 6-like textures reportedly found in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition
A GTA 6-like texture has reportedly been found in GTA Trilogy The Definitive Edition after its recent update. Rockstar Games dropped a brand-new patch for the latter on November 12, 2024, that fixed various issues in the Definitive Edition remasters of Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. This has led to an interesting development, with a fan on GTAForums, BS_BlackScout, pointing out a texture that got flipped and looked quite similar to one seen in the trailer for the upcoming title.
This texture is a door sign that reads: "We will no longer accept cash stored in underwear". The text, font, and white background heavily match a door sign that appears in the final moments of the first official GTA 6 trailer released back in December 2023.
Texture reportedly found in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition resembles a sign from the GTA 6 trailer
The "We will no longer accept cash stored in underwear" sign, which has reportedly been found in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition, can be spotted in the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer (at the 1:17 min mark) on the door of what appears to be a general store.
The sequel's protagonist, Lucia (and her partner), burst into this store with guns, making the door sign visible, as can be seen in the following image:
Needless to say, this discovery got fans talking on social media platforms like X and Reddit. One of the admins on GTAForums, Spider-Vice, reacted to it by stating that they weren't sure if this is not a texture from Grand Theft Auto 5. They also stated that this door sign wasn't a new texture, and only its orientation was fixed with the recent GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition update.
Some fans are wondering if this is an intentional teaser from Rockstar Games. Although it wouldn't be out of character for the developer to do something like this, there is currently no way to confirm if that is actually the case.
