GTA 6 trailer set to cross 200 million views shortly, leaving fans amazed
The first GTA 6 trailer's release was a major event, not just in the world of gaming, but in mainstream media to some extent as well. Over the years, Grand Theft Auto has established itself as one of the biggest entertainment brands, and the first glimpse of its next chapter was welcomed with much fanfare in December 2023. Seven months later, the trailer is set to cross a huge milestone on YouTube, that is the 200 million views mark.
In fact, it needs around a million more views as of this writing to achieve that. Fans seem quite excited about the same but are also hoping to get more GTA 6 trailers, and possibly even screenshots, in the near future. However, Rockstar Games has maintained silence on those topics at the moment.
Official GTA 6 trailer needs around a million more views on YouTube to cross the 200 million mark
The first official GTA 6 trailer was supposed to launch at 9 am ET on December 5, 2023, but Rockstar had to release it abruptly, many hours ahead of schedule due to a leak.
Nevertheless, the official video still managed to get millions of views on YouTube and generated a lot of buzz. It broke many records, such as the most viewed non-music video in 24 hours on the platform. Funnily enough, this record was momentarily snatched from the upcoming Grand Theft Auto title by a Discord April Fool's gag video.
This, however, got reverted after it was found that the Discord application was auto-playing that video, increasing its total view count in the process. Several months later, the upcoming title's trailer is on the cusp of another major milestone, as it will soon hit a whopping 200 million views on YouTube.
Needless to say, Grand Theft Auto fans are quite excited. One even wondered about the reception that potential GTA 6 trailer 2 and 3 or official screenshots could receive.
As already mentioned, Rockstar Games has stated nothing about additional trailers or screenshots of its next release. That said, if marketing patterns of the developer's previous big titles are taken into account, then Grand Theft Auto 6's next trailer might be out by the end of this year.
