It’s been two years since one of the most controversial events in the gaming industry — the GTA 6 leaks of 2022. Since then, we have learned various things about the situation, including the person responsible for it: Arion Kurtaj. However, new details emerged on social media on September 18, 2024, seemingly disclosing how the hacker might have managed to leak one of the most anticipated games of all time.

According to @morsmutual_ — a verified profile on X known for providing GTA-related content — an individual at Rockstar Games contacted them and shared information about how Arion Kurtaj managed to trick an employee from Rockstar India and bypass the security.

GTA 6 leak incident’s second anniversary brings new details

On the second anniversary of the infamous GTA 6 leaks of 2022, @morsmutual_ shared new details about the incident and how it all started. As per their source (which they claimed to be a contact from Rockstar Games itself), Arion Kurtaj tricked a Rockstar India employee with a phishing email scam while they were working from home.

Reportedly, this individual's browser data was logged in at that moment, which allowed the hacker to access their Slack channels.

Other than that, @morsmutual_ shared exciting details about the upcoming game. According to their contact, Rockstar Games India was given the task of working on the "entire Vice Beach area of the map." The source also suggested that the title's map is going to be massive, saying:

"...entire Vice Beach area of the map, which should say enough of how big this game is going to be."

Despite the GTA 6 delay rumors on the internet, Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, recently revealed in its annual report that the title is planned to be released in the fall of 2025.
