No changes in GTA 6's release plans, re-confirms Take-Two Interactive

There was a lot of buzz around Take-Two Interactive's Q2 2025 earnings call as fans expected some information on GTA 6. Rockstar Games' parent company confirmed at the event that the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto sequel is still set for release on Fall of 2025. This release window was first announced in May this year during the month's earnings call and reiterated in August.

Rumors regarding a possible Grand Theft Auto 6 delay had fans worried a couple of months back, but this re-confirmation of a Fall 2025 release window comes as good news. Fans were also expecting a new trailer for the game to be showcased, but that didn't happen.

GTA 6 is still planned to release during Fall of Calendar 2025

GTA 6 will release in Fall 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The game will be set in the fictional state of Leonida, that features Vice City (one of the most iconic settings in the franchise) and include a female protagonist named Lucia.

The GTA 6 leaks from September 2022 suggested that there might be a male playable protagonist too, but that is yet to be officially confirmed. More information on this upcoming title is expected to be revealed by Rockstar Games in the near future since it is supposed to launch next year.

Besides the re-confirmation of the Grand Theft Auto 6 release window, this Take-Two Interactive earnings call revealed other interesting things. For instance, it was announced that GTA 5 has sold over 205 million copies in its lifetime so far.

The 2013 title is available on multiple platforms, has a very active multiplayer community, tons of content, and new DLCs dropping on a regular basis. Additionally, the Grand Theft Auto franchise as a whole has sold over 435 million units.

These games should keep fans busy as they wait for Grand Theft Auto 6. There is still quite a bit of time left before its arrival, but it is at least good to know that there are no changes to its planned release schedule so far.
