Rockstar Games set to start shuffling GTA Online game modes starting next week
Rockstar Games never shies away from doing unpredictable things in the gaming industry, and GTA Online is one of the latest titles they keep experimenting with. Last year, the developers removed many popular vehicles from the open world of Los Santos, and now they may do a similar thing, but with game modes. According to their latest newswire post of August 15, 2024, they are going to keep shuffling certain in-game modes, meaning that players won’t be able to play certain things at certain times.

Like the removed cars, the GTA Online game modes will start to shuffle: Rockstar Games
Rockstar Games released the newsletter post earlier today, announcing the latest GTA Online weekly update. Along with other important information like this week’s bonuses and discounts, they announced the following upcoming changes for players to notice:
“Starting next week, we will begin rotating certain Series and Modes in and out to improve matchmaking and make space for new GTA Online Modes. One of our first swaps will replace Assault on Cayo Perico with an exciting new multi-stage Adversary Mode.”
While they didn’t tell the exact name of the new adversary mode, they confirmed that certain game modes will be replaced in the future, as the developers keep shuffling between them.
Rockstar Games made a similar move last year with the infamous San Andreas Mercenaries DLC. The update single-handedly removed over 180 cars from Grand Theft Auto Online, and now each one occasionally appears for a limited time as part of weekly events.
The upcoming change will seemingly force players to play certain game modes until the next set of rotations arrives. While Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed a list of those game modes or series to be shuffled, fans can expect to learn more about them soon.
The next weekly update is scheduled to be released next Thursday, August 22, 2024.
