5 things in GTA Online that don't make any sense

Several things in GTA Online defy all logic, and players have pointed these out on numerous occasions. For instance, there are certain types of jackets that you can't wear with specific undershirts, indestructible lampposts are placed next to destructible ones, dead NPCs can place a bounty on you, and so on.

While none of these things are game-breaking, they sure are hilarious. Some of these aspects, like the ability to deposit cash through your phone, are even beneficial.

Nevertheless, we've made a list of five things from GTA Online in this article that don't make any sense.

Note: The article is subjective and solely reflects the writer's opinion.

Things that don't make any sense in GTA Online

1) Clothing restrictions

The clothing system in Grand Theft Auto 5 and subsequently, GTA Online, is extremely restrictive. Clothes can't be mixed and matched to your liking. This applies to different types of clothing. For instance, you can't just wear any T-shirt with any type of trousers. Even simple things like wearing a watch with a suit is impossible.

While some types of apparel can overlap and it makes sense to restrict them, the other restrictions don't make sense. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas has a more dynamic system where all types of clothes are compatible with each other.

2) The Mechanic

The Mechanic in GTA Online is one of your paid employees who offers a vital service. He can deliver a vehicle from any of your garages to your position on the map, as long as you're near a road. You just need to call him from your phone. However, the vehicle just magically spawns near you when you aren't looking. This, of course, makes zero sense, but there's a reason why it happens.

In the early days of the game, the Mechanic used to visit you in person, driving your chosen vehicle to you. However, this feature led to one of the strangest bugs in GTA 5 Online, as he would often drive away with the vehicle and even turn hostile if you attempted to take it back.

3) Depositing cash through your mobile

GTA Online allows a very handy little feature that negates the need to visit an ATM. You can deposit all your in-hand cash into your in-game bank account through your mobile phone. This makes no sense, but players have never complained about it since it's a quality-of-life feature. You can still use the ATMs scattered around Los Santos, but there's no need to visit them.

4) Dead NPCs placing bounties on you

Some NPCs in GTA Online get hostile when you attack them. This applies mostly to the random drivers in traffic whom you carjack. Now, the funny thing is, even if you kill these people, they will often place a bounty on you. This makes no sense at all, as they can't possibly place a bounty on you from beyond the grave. Sometimes, they may even send a message to you, as if they're still alive.

5) Unbreakable lampposts right next to breakable ones

One feature present in most Grand Theft Auto games that many players have complained about over the years is the indestructible lampposts. Now, the funniest thing in GTA Online is that these indestructible lampposts are sometimes placed right next to the destructible ones. It should be noted that the trees in the game are also indestructible.

Meanwhile, lampposts and trees in Saints Row 2, a GTA competitor from 2008, are all destructible, so it makes no sense that Grand Theft Auto Online didn't follow the same route.
