"this update one big pile of s**t": Players discuss the worst GTA Online update so far
Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online will have its 11th anniversary in a few months, making it one of the longest-running multiplayer games in history. Rockstar Games released the popular open-world title in 2013 and has since released several DLC updates for the game over the years. This helped extend the life of the game and gave both veterans and beginners something new to try.
However, not every GTA Online update was well received by players, and fans have finally spoken about which of them is the worst in their opinion. Reddit user u/Boss-fight601 started a discussion on the social media platform on July 20, 2024, asking GTA Online fans what the “absolute worst” DLC for the game is so far while sharing his pick for the same. Many responders agreed that the San Andreas Mercenaries update is the worst due to the following reasons:
“Delisted cars from websites, terrible new vehicles no one wants, many bugs upon release, expensive missions(Avenger Operations terminal is like 1.5 million) etc. That all speaks for itself.”
The San Andreas Mercenaries update was released on June 13, 2024, removing many vehicles from Grand Theft Auto Online, and adding content such as Project Overthrow.
u/MrCheggersPartyQuiz agreed with u/Boss-fight601 by stating the following, further explaining what went wrong with the infamous GTA Online update:
“And don’t forget what made this update one big pile of s**t— it reduced the payouts & upped the setup cost for Cayo Perico.”
Interestingly, they are not the only ones who think San Andreas Mercenaries is the worst among all, as many other players also hate the DLC as suggested by their comments:
The main issue that many fans have with the update seems to be the removal of a huge number of vehicles from a game somewhat centered around driving.
Some other DLC mentions by fans were:
- After Hours
- Beach Bum
- Southern San Andreas Super Sport Series
- Heists
The latest major GTA Online update was Bottom Dollar Bounties. Released last month, it added new vehicles, missions, a new business, and more.
Bottom Dollar Bounties: List of everything important the GTA Online update added
The Bottom Dollar Bounties added a brand new Bottom Dollar Bail Enforcement business, allowing players to own something new in Los Santos. A new set of Dispatch Work jobs was also added to allow gamers to help Vincent with free-mode work.
When it comes to vehicles, the DLC added many great ones to the already huge catalog with the likes of Canis Castigator, Overflod Pipistrello, Declasse Impaler LX Cruiser, and more.
Recently, Rockstar also added the brand new Madrazo Hits for Bail Office owners to give them something extra to play with every day.
So far, this DLC has proven to be one of the best, with some pending releases such as Pizza This…, Benefactor Vorschlaghammer, and Zombies Mode.
