India vs China in Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024: Player ratings for victorious Indian team from the final
The Indian women's hockey team emerged victorious in the Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024 after defeating China 1-0 in the final, in Rajgir, Bihar, on Wednesday.
India's goal-scoring ace Deepika rose to the occasion by scoring the solitary goal in the match. Although she also missed a penalty stroke, it didn't prove costly eventually.
It was a thrilling and tight contest, with both teams playing with great intensity. The Indian team suffered heavily from mis-passes and turnovers. However, in a tournament where their attackers dominated all their previous matches, India's defense proved itself more than capable of succeeding under pressure.
They nullified most of the attacks that China mounted, protecting India's slim lead and ensured that the Indian team captured the title.
Let's look at the player ratings for the Indian team from their win over China in the final of the Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024.

Bichu Devi came good when she found herself in the spotlight during one of China's penalty corners. She made a great save and ensured that India kept a clean sheet.

Though the Indian defense had to work more today compared to their previous matches, Savita didn't have to make any saves. Hence, no rating for her.
Sangita Kumari - 7.5/10
Sangita showed her prowess as an attacker today and made one stunning run into the circle. However, she did make some mistakes also, hence half-a-point gets deducted too.
Udita - 7/10
Udita performed her usual role of a solid defender effectively again.
Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke - 7/10
Vaishnavi was more involved in this match because the Indian team had to fight the Chinese hard in the midfield and their own half. Vaishnavi was usually flawless in both the midfield and in defense.

The player from Mizoram was again very effective in the midfield. Transitioning into a midfielder in this tournament, from being an attacker, she has done her job very well.

The Indian captain had a decent outing but she wasn't as prominent today as in some of the previous matches.

Preeti wasn't India's main attacker as others took up the starring role.
Manisha Chauhan - 6/10
A normal day in the office for Manisha without being an exceptional one.

Beauty didn't produce anything exceptional today but wasn't bad either.
Deepika - 7.5/10
Deepika scored the only and winning goal of the match, and it was a good one, coming through a reverse hit from a recycled penalty corner. However, she's docked half-a-point due to her big miss on a penalty stroke.
