As reported by News18 Sports, the hockey icon of yesteryears is now under surveillance for three days in order to enable the doctors to take a call on whether his liver is beyond the scope of healing and mandates a transplant or not. Should the former be revealed as their decision, it would involve a sizeable investment which could pressurize the finances of the humble Mohammad.

On learning of the situation, Hockey India came forward with full support that could aid in the recovery of the former Indian skipper. President Mr Narinder Dhruv Batra offered free-of-cost treatment for the legend and informed that they are in frequent contact with his family to receive updates on his health.
