Day 6 of Rio 2016 sees the return of a favourite sport. Golf has not been a part of the Quadrennial Championships since 1904 until the IOC decided to reinstate it for this edition of the world games. India’s Anirban Lahiri and SSP Chowrasia are a part of the first round of golf to be played in the 2016 Olympics.

After causing a major in the previous round, ace archer Bombayla Devi Laishram will be looking forward to continuing her good run and carrying it into the Round of 16. If she qualifies for the quarterfinals, India is one step closer to getting a medal in the sport.

Another strong contingent we have is in Badminton and all the athletes of the Badminton squad of India feature on day 6 of Rio 2016. Doubles pair Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa will be playing against the pair from Japan comprising of Ayaka Takahashi and Misaki Matsutomo from Japan.

World No 5 Saina Nehwal, on the other hand, will face Lohaynny Vicente who belongs to the home country. PV Sindhu, Manu Attri, Sumeeth Reddy and Srikanth Kidambi will also be in action this day.

Shiva Thapa will look to kickstart his Olympic dream in Boxing while the men and women of the Hockey squads will play against Netherlands and United States respectively in their corresponding group stage matches.

Note: All matches will be telecast Live on Star Sports and are available for live-streaming on hotstar.com. Matches involving Indians will also be available on DD National.
