Rio Olympics 2016: Great Britain announce Men's and Women's hockey teams for the finals
With just over a month to go for the 2016 Rio Olympics to flag off, the British Olympic Association has named the final squads they have selected to be taking part in the Men’s Hockey and Women’s Hockey events respectively.
Both the outfits have been put together with a balance of seniors who have experienced this competition before and talented youngsters who will debut in Rio 2016, within their ranks. Mark England, Team GB chef de mission expressed his delight on naming the bunch of talented individuals who will be chasing their 3rd ever Olympic gold medal in hockey in the Games this August.

As many as ten players in the men’s team will play their first Olympic Games in 2016. They will join 4-time olympian Barry Middleton, 3-time olympian Ashley Jackson and the likes of Nick Caitlin, Dan Fox and Harry Martin for whom this will be the second Olympic appearance of their careers.
Eight members of the women’s team which fetched bronze in their home edition four years back in London feature in the present side, including the Richardson-Walsh sisters Helen and Kate who will compete in their 4th Olympics in Rio. This is a side which won gold at the European Championship last year and are serious contenders for a podium finish next month as well.
