Senior women's hockey camp commences at Patiala

The Senior national women’s hockey team core probables joined the training camp for preparation ahead of the FIH World league Round 3 (Semifinals) to be held at Rotterdam, Netherlands from 13-23 June 2013. The training camp commenced from 12 May at NNIS Patiala. The three week long training camp will continue till June 4, 2013.

FIH Hero Hockey World League round 2 was organised in New Delhi from 18-24 Feb 2013. India finished at the top of the table and thus qualified along with Japan to round three. The FIH World League Round 3 (Semifinal) is a qualifying tournament for the FIH Women’s World Cup to be held at Hague, Netherlands. The FIH Hockey World League is organised by FIH, held over two years, and it serves as a qualifying tournament for the World Cup. 2012-2014 is the inaugural season of the FIH Hockey World League. The finals of the women’s section of this event will be played in Argentina and will feature the top 7 seven teams from the league stage.

Along with India, the other participating teams in the FIH Hockey World League Round 3 (Semifinals) are hosts Netherlands, New Zealand, Germany, Korea, Japan, Belgium and China.
