This made him only the fifth rookie defenseman in franchise’s history to have earned 40 points in a season, joining the likes of Brain Leetch, Ron Greschner, Mike McEwen, and Reijo Ruotsalainen.

His consistent performances over the years have earned him the Norris Trophy along with multiple selections to the NHL First All-Star team and the NHL All-Star games.
